Thoughts...

I am in a weird place at the moment. Pondering the meaning of life alot. Swimming alot. Dreaming of running away and living at the beach alot too.
Thinking alot about direction.
Where do I want to go?
What do I want to be?
What do I need to do to get there?
What do I enjoy doing?
What am I passionate about...?
I have a mix of things to share with you.

Firstly I have applied to do a Master of Digital Design next year. I want to do it part time. Hopefully I will get in and it will be all that I want it to be.
It seems to be related to web design and presenting digital media like animation and film on the web etc...

2nd. I am very impressed at Lauren Carney's work in merchandising her artwork!
http://www.laurencarneyart.com/about.html
Check out her "shop"
I think it is very inspiring to me and I would love to make Calico tote bags and greeting cards!
Which also leads me to THIS great website:
http://www.qispackaging.com.au
Where you can buy calico bags in bulk and have them printed on! As well as 400 packs of paint markers for $9 ... and alot of other great bulk stuff...
I would like to look into some organic materials/papers for printing on...
Maybe even pencil cases.
BUT OF COURSE... I need to work on some great designs first.

3rd. Something that I think would GREATLY benefit my own endevour to collaborate with musicians is a Tagtool. Maybe it's nothing new to you. But I think it is fantastic. http://www.tagtool.org/wp/about
Here is a little preview of what it does... but on the above link you can go to more "art jams"

Illuminating York Preview from makimono on Vimeo.

Anyway I WANT one... but think I would have to be great at spontaneous drawings... and perhaps it would work best collaboratively ... with a group of my fantastic artistic animation friends playing drawing games together.

4th note...
A big thankyou to Alex who introduced me to Yay!everyday. My new favourite website.
Some fave videos that have inspired me:

Skhizein (Jérémy Clapin,2008) from Behemoth on Vimeo.

Super 8 - 1974 from Jarbas Agnelli on Vimeo.

Anyway just browse through: http://yayeveryday.com/popular

And here is a drawing from me... which isnt too new... you have probably seen it on my facebook. Something about letting your guard down. Not being afraid to be loved. Before it's too late lay down your armour.

Also a few pics here from the Diana F+ that I got from Makoto for my birthday! Thankyou! I will have to take a photo of him soon with it to post. I am obviously terrible at it so far... but I took alot of photos this week at the beach so hopefully they turned out alot better. I am very snap happy because I'm so used to having a digital. These are the best four from my first roll of film... they were alll way too dark and I have alot to learn about the settings!

OH! and I will also post this!
What an amazing and inspiring young woman. http://loish.net/ I had seen and loved one of her animations before but hadnt realised she was so young and female and had so much other amazing work! <3
Oh my gosh... AND she has the same birthday as me. Spirit sisters!

That is all for now... Hopefully will have some more drawings of my own to put up soon. THere is alot I want to do but need to work out how to do it!

Lovely kitsch and smutty Yay! Everyday! Some exciting news in this blog entry, Em. You're sounding brave and decisive. Here's a poem I found for you!

The Meaning of Existence
by Les Murray

Everything except language
knows the meaning of existence.
Trees, planets, rivers, time
know nothing else. They express it
moment by moment as the universe.

Even this fool of a body
lives it in part, and would
have full dignity within it
but for the ignorant freedom
of my talking mind.

I'm pretty sure you'll be all you want to be young Em! Nice photos by the way. Cheerio.

immmm soooo glad you posted this em! im going to hassle you all the time now to post more :) you already know i love the knight.
those photos are fantastic! especially the second one with the double exposure. they all have this gorgeous way of letting the audience create their own context for them.
